Equal Time

This was the best I could do with the wiggly little guy.
Today Ethan is 9 months old. It's kinda crazy to think I was pregnant with him for this long. It seems like we've had him forever... in a good way, really. He's grown up a ton this month and I am starting to realize he won't be a little baby for much longer so I am just trying to soak it all in. I love this stage.

He's gotten mobile. He army crawls with his right arm and left leg. Every once in a while he'll get up on his hands and knees to rock forward and back. He holds onto my hands and a few other things to pull himself up. Sometimes just for the fun of it I keep laying him back down after he pulls himself up to a sitting position to help him get stronger. He'll have a 6 pack in no time. :)

He started jabbering this month. It started out in a high pitched, excited voice and he mostly said "dada" over and over. Now "mama" has escaped his lips but its always said in this depressing low tone. What's the deal with that?

Holding himself up outside the tub and hearing the sound of his knees bouncing against the side of the tub is a new favorite after bath activity.

Ethan is still a big fan of the pureed food I make for him and he's gotten used to those baby rice puff things ( I tried one, they aren't bad). I've given him barely chunky foods and he gags way bad on it. Last night we gave him a little bit of corn bread from dinner and after making as big a mess as possible with the tiny piece we gave him, he cautiously put it in his mouth, gagged then threw up. Hopefully this trend doesn't continue.
It was starting to take Ethan an hour to finish off a bottle and it was a battle to get it done that fast. Thankfully something jogged my memory about bottle nipples varying for different ages. With the appropriate bottle nipple he is once again done in about 10 minutes.
He occasionally puts his hands together by himself to pray before he eats.

His two lower middle bottom teeth came in. I didn't think his smile could get any cuter but his little jack-o-lantern grin is adorable.

When I say uh uh uh (no) he looks at me and shakes his head 'no' but doesn't necessarily stop.
The sniffer face.

He does this sniffing thing when he's really concentrated or for no reason at all. His face gets all squinched up and he sniffs in an out really fast. Apparently his aunt Bec did the same thing. It's pretty hilarious.

The latest trick his mama bear taught him.

He's outgrown his 6-9 month clothes in length but he is definitely not a chunky kid.

He has discovered his tongue and love love loves to poke it out and let it flap or stick it up top and make it look like a big fat upper lip.

Today the little monkey is sick. :( He's got some kind of cold /cough thing going on and we had a great time all last night welcoming the visitor. Luckily Ethan has been sleeping a ton today so we've both caught up on our sleep. I love being home to take care of him. Gosh, I love my little baby boy so so much.

2/24
Had his 9 month checkup today. Apparently his cold thing was a nice dose of RSV. We have continued to have long nights and apparently have a few more to go since the sickness usually hangs around for  10-14 days. O da da dear dear.

He's now 15 lbs 9 oz (2%) - I am pretty certain he's lost weight this week. He's had a very little appetite. He's 27.5 inches tall (25%)

He looks so old standing outside that bathtub! And I love that I spend time with two babies everyday that are the exact same age as him. It gives me an appreciation of all he is doing as I see Emma and Charlie learning all these same things. Here's to precious 9 month olds! Kisses!

Brayden JUST started saying Mommy!! I love it!!! I always got the depressed bit too. Also, I'm dying to pass down 12 month clothes to you but it seems the shrimp is content to be such and still doesn't even fit into his 12 mo. jacket. His hands aren't even visible in it. I'll let you know if some major growth spurt takes over. I love the bathtub picture!! And the sniffing face! Haha! I'd like to see a present day one of Bec to compare it with. :) I LOVE the 9th and 10th month. They are PRECIOUS A big favorite of mine. Kiss that sweet little boy for me! And tell the cold to beat it!

Just saw the video-Oh those little squeaks! I love it! And I love how when you offer the camera for him and then scoot back he's like, "What? Ughhhh, blast."

Cakes, I noticed you can no longer keep in the corner for the monthly picture. It's just the beginning! As always I loved the update and the action shots.
